.FoodOnline is an E-store solution designed for grocery and general merchandising retailers. The E-store has special functions that have been developed with trade transactions in mind and it´s suited to being used as a B2C and or B2B measure.

The history of MatOnline began back in 1998 with the development of e-commerce solutions for grocery and general merchandising retailers. We realised quite early on the great complexities in retailing and as such a need of well-developed support to sustain e-commerce and the subsequent logistic requirements. Through the years MatOnline has been developed into a logistics platform with specific interfaces for:

- shelf replenishment staff
- distributors
- customer database
- payment functions
- product presentation
- coupon handling
- encryption and so on.
Today .FoodOnline is the logistics platform to use in managing high volume product flows. .FoodOnline is used by Home Help* personnel to purchase groceries on behalf of elderly people living alone at home.
.FoodOnline is equipped with a multitude of support functions like distribution planning and delivery, order handling, automatic update of store products and prices, card payments etc. Online transaction and payment data are encryption protected.
In conjunction with .FoodOnline there are several well-established support activities as the training and project management when implementing council use. .FoodOnline can greatly improve Home Help workers´ work quality as time and energy is saved that would be otherwise spent on dealing with heavy shopping bags and it takes away the responsibility of having to deal with cash. This in such provides the municipality with efficient use of its Home Help resource. Municipalities where the use of .FoodOnline is common practice are the cities Landskrona and Kalmar.
.FoodOnline is beeing used succesfully as a B2B system by large mainstream retailers in Sweden: ICA Maxi, ICA Kvantum and ICA Supermarket.
Another succesful use of .FoodOnline is to provide goods and services in scarely populated areas. In the town of Vingåker, the local shopping centre has together with ICA Supermarket, Vingåker Council, and the LRF (Federation of Swedish Farmers) and smaller ICA shops established a solid retailing structure in grocery supply and distribution through .FoodOnline.
